The
title of Keighley musician Neil Thomas' debut album is
probably one of the longest in musical history. And
the
journey to complete it was also longer for the album, entitled
For
The Chance of a Last Drop to Ask More from Honey and
from Twilight.
Neil wrote most of the songs during his time with local
bands
such as funksters Persuasion and gothic rockers Inquisition.
He recorded them more than two years ago but the master
tapes were stolen during a burglary. They were recovered
by
Police who contacted local studios in search of their
owner.
Now the album is complete and on sale at Mix Music in
Keighley and Skipton (CD £15, Cassette £7.50).
"The songs
are quite personal, but people thought they were good
enough
to put out in the shops," says Neil. The 12 songs are about
desperate circumstances and have a lyrical appeal. The
album
features guitars, synths, Irish pipes and dulcimer and
guest
musicians include Theo Speller from the Whipping Post.
