        I took a shortcut through a backstreet
        A place I never go
        Past a man from cardboard city
        Moving very slow

        Should I stop or turn my head
        And walk away in silence
        Should I pretend it never happened
        Was it something that I dreamt?

        And afterwards I'm thinking
        Just how could this be?
        How can we let it happen?
        Are we too blind to see?
        When I sat before the menu
        And looked at all the choice
