Heaven Scent were a five piece commercial rock band based just
outside Oakworth, near Haworth in West Yorkshire.
They signed to Pax Records in 1992 and began pre-production work
on a debut album which was to be released in both the UK and Japan.
The band were very selective about the venues that they performed
at, their favourite being Rio Campus in Bradford where they
supported acts such as 'Jagged Edge' as well as playing headlining

shows at the club. Pax Records folded
before completion  of 'Head Up In the
Clouds' and so the recording was
funded jointly by the band members.
The twelve songs were recorded in six
days, using Carl Stipetics new 24 track
analogue equipment at The In A City
Studio which was then on Canal Road.
Unfortunately the stress involved in
completing these songs proved to be
too much and they parted company
soon afterwards.
Neil acknowledges other members of the band for their work on
the lyrics to a few of the songs, as some of the ideas were started
before he joined the band, particularly 'Give Me Love'
