Neil's work with long-time songwriting partner Dave Turner has proved to be
   invaluable to his creative development. This limitless freedom of expression
   has given birth to a wide spectrum of material, without compromising style.
   Initially, Dave's recording set up consisted of a 4 Track recorder and an
   eight track desk. Later Dave invested in an 8 track reel to reel machine and
   a larger desk which improved flexibility and meant that the songs
  could benefit from a polished production. 1993 proved
  to be a very prolific year for Dave and Neil. It saw the
  completion of two CD's 'Distance No Object' which
  was completed by the middle of summer and 'Refraction'
  which was mixed late December. Both the song titles
  and the lyrical themes of 'Refraction' are based around
  colours which deliberately disguises the subject matter,
  almost forcing the listener to focus on the words. These
  songs are very personal and are amongst Neil's favourites.
   Dave's creativity stretches far beyond the conventional.
   He is known to have used an array of unusual objects
   to create the backdrop to his music. From bacco hammers
   to boiling kettles, car engines to dot-matrix printers, it is
   very apparent that texture is the trademark stamp to all
   of David's work. On the 1994 collaboration 'Mother' Neil
   and Dave crafted a huge multifaceted social statement
   based upon many of the underlying problems that we as a
   species ignore and 'sweep-under-the-carpet'.There are no
