ideas which you probably wouldn't have thought
of yourself.
Creativity in songwriting is generally borne
out of experimentation,
anticipating reaction and offering different
perspectives to alter
direction. The teamwork and camaraderie that
exists in a small group
of musicians striving for the same goals creates
good feeling and
kind of spiritual enclosure in which creativity
can flourish.
With all of the bands I've worked with, it has
been the buzz of
completing a new song, recording it or performing
for the first
time, that has had the most appeal to me. Cover-versions
are simply
crowd-pleasers to justify your presence on stage.
